Lawrence Edward Grace "Titus" Oates, whose family lived at Gestingthorpe Hall, was a British army officer and later an Antarctic explorer. He died from hypothermia during the fateful Terra Nova Expedition to the South Pole. In his illustrated talk, local historian and author, Ashley Cooper, introduces us to the man and his quest.
